In Q2 2025 donations from all our events generated lovely 104 GBP for Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust.
Thank you to everyone who kindly donated into our charity collection.
Here is how you can get involved:
Reserve your space on one of our public foraging courses or book us for a talk for your local club. Apart from dinations on the day, 5 pence per mile from fuel cost we charge is also donated to LRWT.
I’d like to share how our charity donations work and invite you to join us in making a difference.
At every talk or event, I bring a selection of nature-related goods available for attendees to enjoy. These items often include handcrafted or foraged products inspired by the natural world, and every contribution made in exchange for these goods goes directly to the LRWT.
This year, the LRWT’s training center was brutally vandalized, with vital machinery destroyed in a fire. The total damage exceeded £40,000, creating a significant challenge for the trust. In response, we’re doing our bit at every event to help restore and rebuild their essential resources.
Here’s how you can help:
- Donations of Surplus Nature Goods: If you or your members have any nature-related goods, surplus items, or handmade creations inspired by the outdoors, we’d love for you to consider donating them. These could include:
- Foraged or crafted items (e.g. jams, tarts and cakes made from wild fruit etc)
- Nature-inspired art or photography
- Outdoor gear in good condition
These items will be shared with attendees at future events, encouraging donations to the LRWT and allowing more people to enjoy the beauty of nature.
- Spreading the Word: Encourage your community to attend our events, where they can learn about the edible and medicinal properties of plants and mushrooms, and support this vital cause.
Your contributions, no matter how small, will directly support the trust’s efforts to recover from this devastating loss and continue their invaluable work in preserving our local wildlife and environment. Together, we can make a difference.
