Team Building

Our team building activities are best suited for small to medium size companies but with our partners, we can also offer foraging/survival theme activity as part of a whole company/whole day event. Adjustable for indoor or outdoor so you can hire us all year round.

What to expect:

This is  a short video capturing one of our team building events for medium size company in innovative technology and sustainability business sector. They chose a combination of indoor (in their office) and outdoor (just outside their office block) activities and everyone loved it.

Learning

Our foraging-themed team-building experience can blend the great outdoors with sensory, plant-themed challenges indoors.

Outdoors, participants build confidence in plant recognition, observation, and decision-making as they navigate the natural environment with the support of expert guides.

Indoors, the focus shifts to activities that develop team cohesion, adaptability, and problem-solving—key skills for thriving in dynamic work environments. With every task designed to encourage clear communication and collaborative thinking, this experience supports personal growth and stronger team dynamics in a relaxed, nature-connected setting.

Learning how to add wild food into daily diet is not just a survival skill, it helps promote more sustainable living.

Fun

Expect curiosity, laughter, and plenty of surprises. Indoors, your team will compete in plant-themed puzzles, test their senses in aroma-identification challenges, and group unusual botanical items by sight and feel—no prior knowledge required.

Outdoors, it’s all about discovery and shared adventure as participants explore new terrain and search for edible plants. Whether you’re solving visual brain-teasers or sniffing out wild herbs in a scent challenge, these activities spark creativity, friendly competition, and a real sense of connection.

An addition, connecting with nature is beneficial for your employees mental health.

Foraging is a safe and inclusive activity suitable for any experience level and adaptable to any physical disability.

Joanna came to our company to deliver some team building activities. It was informative, engaging and very funny! I would recommend her sessions to any group. It was some nice to learn about the world around us and be inspired to notice more.

This was fun and engaging, but gets five stars mainly because of Jo’s wicked sense of humour, which made the whole experience a delight.

“We had an excellent, entertaining and engaging time with Charnwood Foraging – a really fun way to spend a morning team building and learning. Highly recommended.”

Great team building event! Very cheerful host!!

“Joanna recently came along to one of our weekly scout meetings. She took the children on a local walk and taught them so much about their local area and which plants could be eaten or used in recipes. As well as which one to definitely avoid! She was patient and very knowledgeable, an excellent teacher. We have recommended her to local groups and hope to see her again in the future.”

“Superb morning learning a lot about the plants around us. Nice to learn and especially having samples to try. Highly recommended for anyone of any age.”

“Joanna ran an excellent session for the Beaver Colony I lead in Quorn. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for foraging is infectious. She was engaging, fun and communicated with me every step of the way when planning the session. She gave the children a wonderful, unforgettable experience. Thank you Joanna!”

“Thanks again for everything the other week at Dovecote Events, it was great to meet you and see your activity in person. Regarding feedback, the general consensus on the day was that everyone loved it!”

Law

We don’t address law in detail, however at high level we do mention what we can and cannot legally foraged for in the UK public places during an introductory team briefing.

Location

We are based on Loughborough, East Midlands.

We are happy to travel a reasonable distance to your location or can host a foraging event at our premises. Loughborough is close to several sites with huge selection of edibles to learn about. We also have a small classroom (used for our “fungi identification expert experience”) where we can host up to 20 people.  This space is also used as canteen for our “forage and cook” experience.
